How I work

Order and stance. The four steps themselves are under Process.

I start at the task, not the model: which step costs how much time today, and how an improvement would be measured. Without that number every AI feature is a demo nobody can switch off and nobody has to defend.

Then comes access to your data. Retrieval over your documents, connections to the systems the data actually lives in, and permissions taken from your estate rather than invented beside it. A model allowed to see more than the person in front of it is a security incident on a delay.

The model itself is a replaceable component behind an interface of your own. Providers, prices and quality change faster than your application, so the switch is planned before it is needed. Where the task allows it, processing stays in the EU.

Delivery includes evaluation: hit rate, cost per case, and the cases where the feature was wrong. Those numbers are yours and live in your accounts.

I do not build an AI feature without a measurable task behind it. Where a query, a rule or a clean form does the work, that is the better answer — and I say so before budget flows.

What is usually asked about this service.

01Does our data stay in the EU?

Where the task allows it, yes: EU processing is the starting point and the choice of model follows from it. Where a provider outside the EU is unavoidable Ie say so beforehand and keep the volume of data small.

02Are you locking us into one provider?

No. The model sits behind an interface of your own, the evaluation runs against several providers, and the switch is part of the handover.

03Is this AI consulting?

No — this is building. If a mid-sized business first has to settle whether and where AI carries at all, that is IT consulting; from Mainz I start there and only then build.
